Lanzarote has a good network of modern roads, and Sands Beach Resort hotel has it’s own parking facilities. Given these 2 facts, you may well decide that car hire is the perfect route for a convenient and free roaming family holiday. There is a wide choice of hire companies around the island, whether you book in advance on the internet, hire at Arrecife airport, or pick up a car when you need it in Costa Tequise. One of the biggest companies, Avis Canarias can be contacted at www.avis.es , they have just announced a new service called “One Way” which lets you hire a car in Lanzarote or Fuerteventura and use it in the other island for no extra charge. This is very handy as it’s just a short hop, about 12 minutes by ferry, across to Fuerteventura, and it allows you to explore both islands during your stay. At the airport you will find another well known company, Hertz, or for advance details try Hertz. Also when you land, you will find Record Rentacar.

Sands Beach Resort hotel rception will be glad to give you further advice if you feel the need to hire a car. Bear in mind that you will need your driving licence and passport and most companies will want the driver to be at least 21 years old.
