Lanzarote Guidebook Competition Winner Announced

The lucky winner of the recent Sands Beach competition that featured in the Autumn edition of Lanzarote Guidebook, the in-depth island information guide, has just been announced.  With the top prize going to Paul Trigg, from Shirley near Solihull in the West Midlands.

Paul beat off over 900 entrants to grab the prize of a weeks stay at Sands Beach and was ecstatic when informed about his win.  Stating that this was the best possibe start to 2009.

The competition, which was featured in both the Lanzarote Guidebook magazine and on the Lanzarote Guidebook website featured a simple prize draw mechanic.  And drew a total of 911 entries.

Lucy lives the Rockstar life in Sands Beach Resort Hotel

What a great place for a school reunion, we threw down the challenge to make a You Tube video that sums up the sun, fun and relaxation of a holiday at Sands Beach Resort Hotel and Lucy Pryor accepted it with a glint in her eye and a song in her heart.

Lucy and 9 former school friends from Surrey, now at different Universities, came together again for a weeks holiday in June and they were inspired by the sun, the beachfront and the bars of Costa Teguise and in particular one special song. Rockstar by Nickelback struck a chord with them so they set about recording their own tribute to the fun video and they certainly left no corner of Sands Beach Resort Hotel untouched by their musical antics.

Back at Nottingham Trent University, where she is studying graphic design, Lucy indulged in her hobby of film editing to pull all the clips together to make the video you can see at http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=nLFKuPJxwaQ or through our direct front page link. She then entered it in our competition to win a FREE weeks holiday in 2009 and flights for 2 people and half board accommodation, by uploading the video to You Tube and sending us a link. The result is very impressive, take a bow Lucy and her happy cast of Joanne, Ellie, the other Lucy, Tavani, Chloe, Olivia, Anna, Nicola and Tom. 

It’s a tough act to follow but you have until the end of 2008 to get your entry in. Good luck.

You’ve had a great family holiday at Sands Beach Resort, and with the aid of your camcorder or phonecam, you have saved some great memories, what could be better? How about using those film memories to win a FREE weeks holiday in 2009, with flights for 2 people and half board accomodation.

We are looking for a great holiday video that sums up the fun, excitement and feeling of being at the best hotel in Lanzarote. It could be taken at any of the 6 plaza pools, the beachfront lagoon or any of the bars and restaurants, it’s up to you, just as long as it is in the actual resort all you have to do is upload your film to You Tube and post us a link. We would love to know a bit more about you so tell us your name, contact details and a bit of background on you, your holiday group and what inspired you to make your video.

There are of course the standard competition rules, such as, this is not open to staff of sands beach resort or their family, the entrant has to be over 18 and the film made in 2008. the prize must be taken in 2009, subject to availability, and flights are up to a value of 500 euros. Apart from that, the only limit is your imagination. Good luck - and don’t forget, even Steven Spielberg had to start somewhere.
