Canada, latest recruits to Lanzarote

September 11, 2009

When you have an island as special as Lanzarote, it’s only fair to share it with the world. That’s why Canadians will now have the chance to enjoy the sun, beaches and rugged landscapes of Lanzarote.

As of winter 2009, Toronto will be linked to Arrecife by regular flights, via Madrid or Barcelona, although there are already plans for direct flights. Total Vacations are the tour operators running the flights, and the deal struck with the Lanzarote government, includes promotional materials in Toronto and features for in flight publications.

A trial link was set up in 2007, attracting 2,384 visitors between January and April, but this time with a big push behind the connections, the numbers are expected to really take off.
