You’d be mad not to visit Lanzarote

September 25, 2009

Noel Coward famously sung “Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun” well there was a touch of English madness in the Lanzarote air as the Monster Raving Looney Party launched their new overseas branch in Costa Teguise.

This far from serious political group got an invite from former member Dick Knowles, founder of British FM radio in Lanzarote, a 15 year resident on the island. The leader of the Monster Raving Looney Party, Alan “Howling Laud” Hope flew in to open the new party headquarters at The Bulldog Bar in Costa Teguise.

Alan is an old friend of the late lamented party leader Screaming Lord Sutch, and was met at Arrecife airport by party supporters dressed in silly fancy dress costumes. The first proposal from the new Lanzarote branch was to export cans of sunshine back to the UK, marketed as Canned Heat.

As you can see the British sense of humour is thriving in the suuny surrounds of Lanzarote, and with great family friendly beachfront settings like Sands Beach Resort Hotel, you really would be mad not to visit Costa Teguise.
